Training of researchers within VEGA took place in various forms, as follows:

  • Research periods abroad spent by VEGA research members in order to be integrated in research teams from the partners institutions and gather specific knowledge necessary to be gathered within the home research lab
  • Hosting researchers from partner institutions who worked integrated within the VEGA research group. This allowed a transfer of knowledge as well as strengthening the research capacity of the group during the stay of the guest scientist
  • Attending various courses organized at local level and abroad

In the table below a list of the mobility flows dedicated to the above measures is given.

Joint work with the CAD research group coordinated by Prof Imre Horvath, Editor in chief of Elsevier Journal of CAD

  • One of the significant impacts of the VEGA project 1st year achievements (hiring new researchers and establishment of the excellent infrastructure) was the explosive development of the RTD contracts. If the research contracts volume of the group at project start  was very small (less than 50 KEuro), in the 3rd project year, the group is running more than 6 major RTD projects at national level with a total funding of over 3 millions Euro. In this context many of the mobility flows planned within VEGA have been integrated and supported within these projects (some examples are included below). In addition, just because of this very positive development, it was not anymore affordable to organise many outgoing long stays mobility flows in order to avoid weakening the research capacity of the group during these stays. Instead, it has been preferred to host researchers from partner institutions who worked integrated within the VEGA research group increasing the research capacity of the group. This allowed a transfer of knowledge as well as strengthening the research capacity of the group during the stay of the guest scientists.
  • Attending various courses organized at local level and abroad

In the table below a list of the mobility flows dedicated to the above measures is given.

Evaluation of the VEGA achievements and collaboration to the book Virtual Multibody Systems to by published by Doru Talaba at SPRINGER at the end of 2008

Some of the incoming mobility flows didn’t need VEGA resources because they have been supported by the partners themselves.
It can be concluded that the training of researchers activities within VEGA project has taken place at an acceptable level.
